Traffic and Parking Engineer
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is seeking an engineer to work within our parking team so, if you have an interest in solving difficult problems, we may have the role for you.
We are an innovative and forward thinking Council that offers a good rate of pay and terms and conditions of employment for a 37 hour working week.
Tunbridge Wells is a popular tourist destination with a busy town centre. Managing parking within the town, and around the Borough, is an important and challenging part of our work. Our engineering team is small with a heavy workload. We require an additional member of staff who can help us develop a comprehensive strategy for the future and deliver a number of parking management schemes.
We employ around 300 people and there is a great network of social activities that you can join in with and make lots of new friends and Tunbridge Wells is a great place work.
Ideally, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering, although we will consider all suitably experienced candidates. This is a career graded post meaning that, with exceptional performance, you can potentially progress quickly to a higher pay grade. The ability to engage effectively with members of the public and work colleagues is vital, so good communication skills are very important to us.
If you are interested, then have a look at the job description and person specification, and if you want to have an informal chat before applying online, then just give Nick Baldwin a call on 01892 554469.
Additional benefits for this post include 22 days annual leave (increasing to 27 days after 5 years Local Government service), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme as well as invaluable training opportunities for continuing professional development.
